When I moved to Southern California in 1992, I was keen to explore all that Los Angeles had to offer. But as the novel settled into the familiar, I found that my weekend explorations became few and far between.
16 years later, my sister has moved to Los Angeles, and so I’m seeing the city again through new eyes. As I shared some of the stories with colleagues over lunch, I realized that I should be recording these experiences for posterity. It doesn’t hurt that gas prices are high and I recently started a new job. The era of the “staycation” provides the perfect opportunity to explore locally.
This blog is dedicated to documenting the adventures and discoveries. And realizing that there’s no way to do it all – though there’s no harm in trying! – I hope to have some guest writers share their own “finds” related to food and other fun in the LA area.
