…with the Sound of Music. Friday evening I finally attended an event I’d been hearing about for years, the Singalong Sound of Music. Along with 18,000 other people, I enjoyed the opportunity to watch this classic on the big screen under the stars.
I must confess that I was a bit apprehensive – I had heard that people all showed up in costume, and quite frankly, I just didn’t have the time to dig up a pair of lederhosen. But while there were some great entries in the costume content (including my favorite, the “needle pulling thread”), most people were in their street clothes.
As with most other Bowl performances, the evening began with a picnic and wine, so everyone was in a great mood by the time the film started rolling. I realized that each of the many times I’ve seen the movie, it’s always been on TV. I’ll tell you: there’s nothing like seeing in on a real movie screen with an engaged audience.
More on the event soon…

Wine and lederhosen – sounds like a dangerous combination! But sounds like a blast!
